Air Berlin takes off from Stanstead

The German airline carrier Air Berlin has begun to offer a range of new services to long-haul destinations from Stanstead Airport.
Air Berlin now flies to nine international routes including Cancun in Mexico, Samana in the Dominican Republic, Miami and Bangkok.
Titus Johnson, the company’s UK and Ireland manager, said: “Air Berlin has a great reputation for providing full service at lower fares and we’re excited to now be able to offer travellers from London, East England and beyond even more choice to an exciting range of long haul destinations.”
Air Berlin flies to 120 destinations across the world and is Europe’s fourth-largest airline in terms of traffic volumes.

Gosimply.com have announced the winners of the gosimply award, which are declared at the end of each calendar month.
The awards highlight the best holiday essentials products in the UK including airport car parks, hotels and lounges.
The October 2008 winning ariports were Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Dover, Durham Tees Valley, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Glasgow, Heathrow, Leeds, Liverpool, Luton, Manchester, Newcastle, Prestwick and Stanstead.

‚£2m Transport improvements on cards for Luton

London Luton Airport is currently undergoing a huge construction project aimed at improving the airport‚s transport infrastructure.
‚£2m has been invested to improve the area around the central terminal. The project, which is intended to greatly improve passengers‚ journey experience to and from the London airport, will include developing the set-down areas for bus passengers and enhancing the terminal roundabout.
A short-term car park and drop-off zones are also included in the plans.
A statement from London Luton Airport Operations Ltd said, “As the UK’s fifth largest airport, currently serving over ten million passengers per year, London Luton continues to invest in infrastructure and service provision to provide passengers will the best possible travelling experience,”
In recent years Luton Airport has seen a significant rise in the number of UK holidaymakers passing through the airport to fly to a number of popular international holiday destinations.
