Turkey expects 30 million holidaymakers in 2010

The Culture and Tourism minister for Turkey has set a target of 30 million holidaymakers to visit the country in 2010, despite the current economic climate.
Ertugrul Gunay recently said to the Anadolu Agency, “We are expecting around 26 million tourists this year and our target for 2010 is 30 million if we could overcome the crisis.”
Turkey ranks 7th in the world for tourist numbers, and in revenue from tourism it ranks 9th in the world according to Mr Gunay.
This year Turkey aimed at attracting visitors from France, next year the culture and tourism minister said Turkey will aim at attracting Japanese tourism in a bid to boost tourism figures.
Turkey grows in popularity – and is tipped for property investment

Reports from some tour operators suggest that Turkey holidays might be even more popular than holidays in Spain this year – and this is leading property investors to tip Turkey as a top location.
There have been a number of discounts on investment property in Turkey in recent months, including some beachfront properties, reports Offplan Property Exchange.
Some villas in the popular destination, Bodrum, are almost 15% cheaper than at the start of the year.
Turkey is benefitting from having a currency that is cheaper for British holidaymakers to buy than the Euro.
It’s a diverse country with resorts on the Mediterranean and Aegean coastlines, offering a lot of choice for travellers.
Spain has been the number one holiday destination for British travellers for over 30 years.
Spain: Holiday destination offering best value within EuroZone

Travellers looking to stretch their pounds as far as possible are heading out of the EuroZone for their summer holidays, but new research says that Spain offers the best value of EuroZone countries.
A cost comparison of over 100,000 holiday rental properties revealed that Spain holiday properties do offer good value for money.
Matthew Simpson at Creative Traveller, which specialises in Greek and Turkish properties, agrees with the survey findings. “In general you’ll also find that you get more space as well as better quality for your money in Turkey. Bedrooms and outside terrace areas tend to be bigger.”
