Skiing without travel insurance could be costly
Dec 7th
Travel insurance companies have revealed that many holidaymakers this winter are planning on avoiding purchasing adequate travel insurance.
More UK holidaymakers plan to hit the slopes this season and with the current economic climate many travellers are trying to save money wherever possible.
However, according to AA Travel Insurance cutting back on travel insurance could be a costly mistake; getting treatment for a broken leg can cost up to ‚£10,000 in the US and around ‚£4,000 in Europe without travel insurance.
They also believe many experienced skiers will attempt unnecessary risks such as skiing off-piste without a guide to avoid crowded slopes. It is important to stay on-piste in designated areas and ski in numbers.
By choosing a less expensive ski resort or budget accommodation will help keep within holidaymaker‚s budgets, getting the correct travel insurance cover is essential, especially for activity breaks such as skiing holidays.
