Happy sailing for relationships during the 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP™
May 21st
The ideal ‘his and her’ holiday awaits as European cruise line MSC cruises have signed a media agreement allowing them to screen all 64 2010 FIFA WORLD CUP™ world cup games aboard their fleet of 11 ships, joining P&O Cruises and other popular cruise lines who have decided to offer onboard viewing.
“As a fervent football supporter the least I could do was offer fellow fans the opportunity to follow the 2010 FIFA World Cup while cruising aboard our ships. From June 11 and for an entire month until July 11 our guests will be able to experience the thrill of the event and enjoy football fever as if they were in South Africa”, said Pierfrancesco Vago, CEO of MSC Cruises.
With special cocktails for each nation such as the Italy cocktail with Campari, Martini Rosso and soda water, or the England cocktail with Pimm’s and Ginger ale, sunbathing and spa for ‘her’ and WORLD CUP™ football for him, everybody looks set to be happy on a cruise this Summer!
Azura to commence operating sooner
Jul 1st
The celebrations of the new P&O Cruise Liner Azura are reportedly going to be cut short so the ship can commence operating in order to earn money.
The delivery of the ship is expected to take place on 31st March 2010 with the maiden voyage commencing on 12th April 2010, giving agents and prospective consumers a shorter time to visit and view the ship.
Nigel Esdale P&O Cruises Managing Director recently said, “Azura is traditional P&O Cruise in a Ventura-size package targeted at past passengers and the evidence is that the message is getting through to the trade and consumers. Agents are savvy about cruising and we have a programme of on and off-line marketing to keep consumers up to date with the ship’s development.”
With extra capacity on board, taking it just over 3,000, P&O Cruises are expecting a rise in returning consumerism as well as new clientele bookings.

According to recent research cruise holidays are defying the rising issue of rising fuel costs by offering some of the cheapest deals for ten years.
P&O cruises claims that its cruise packages are around a third cheaper than they were ten years ago and says that sea travel has never offered better value for money.
The affordability of holidays on cruise liners has made them more attractive to younger holidaymakers and families.
A contributing factor to the falling cost of holiday cruises is the construction of mega-ships which have larger capacities.
A spokeswoman for P&O said that it would be unlikely that the cruise industry would suffer the same fate as the airline industry. She added: “Cruise companies seem to be more resilient to recession‚.
