Croatia, an affordable alternative!
Apr 15th
Croatia although situated in Europe is not affected with the exchange rate deflation of the Euro against the Pound, as it has its own currency, the Kuna.
The unspoilt countryside and the hot Mediterranean climate make Croatia a very affordable holiday destination.
With the cost of living much lower than the UK, as well as food, transport and drinks, this inexpensive holiday destination is an ideal location to enjoy your package holiday in 2009.
Locals are very welcoming to tourists as they wish holidaymakers to enjoy their country, as much as they do.
There are 1,185 islands with many outdoor activities to be enjoyed, and only couple of hours away from the UK. This country can be enjoyed and suited to the tastes of everyone.
Holidays-Direct gives you the opportunity to enjoy Croatia by offering package holidays to Split and Dubrovnik.
More tourists choose Cuba
Mar 2nd
The number of tourists choosing Cuba as their holiday destination has increased again last year, following a downturn two years ago, Channel 4 reports.
Tourism is an important source of income for the Caribbean republic, and while the industry has been growing in recent years, it suffered a setback following Fidel Castro‚s retirement and the damage caused by hurricanes Gustav and Ike.
Now visitors are flocking to the island again, encouraged by Cuba‚s ministry of tourism, that seeks to actively promote tourism by offering tour operators good deals and by cutting the price of aviation fuel last year.
Especially the number of Canadian tourists is expected to rise, and there are also hopes that restrictions on Americans visiting Cuba may be relaxed soon by the new US administration.
Value for money holidays
Feb 16th
Holidaymakers want the most for their money and to maximise their budgets for holiday spending; however at the moment with the pound sterling in a steady decline, tourists are finding it increasingly hard to get value for money on currency for their chosen holiday destination.
Their maybe some good news for holidaymakers as some destinations across the world are also experiencing falling rates of currency. The Brits can get greater value for money than destinations such as the US, Japan and Spain.
These holiday destinations are:
Bulgaria great for ski holidays and sun holidays, here the Leva currency is great value for money
Poland great for city breaks in Krakow, the pound is rising against the Polish Zloty which makes this destination more affordable
Turkey the value of the pound has not changed against the Turkish Lira therefore a great place to visit if the budget is minimal
Iceland a great city break destination, Reykjavik is a beautiful city with much to explore, and with the pound strong against the Krona
South Africa holiday with a difference and maximise your money as the rand (ZAR) increases in value against the pound
Czech Republic another city break that won‚t break the bank, Prague is great city to visit whether for 2 nights or 5
Brazil a long haul holiday in a diverse country full of life, much of it to be discovered by the Europeans which makes it one of the best value for money holidays
Canada a great place to go skiing. Even though the Canadian Dollar has fallen in recent months against the pound, the drive to increase tourism has led to reduced rates in hotels and has made this an affordable holiday choice.
