Two days, nine hours and 25 minutes after you arrive to your holiday destination, you finally relax. A new survey has pin-pointed the exact time when Brits on holiday finally relax.

Most British holidaymakers cannot be bothered to learn even the most basic words and phrases in the language used in their holiday destination, and 81% refuse to take a phrase book or dictionary with them, while one third rely on the locals being able to speak English.

The low cost airline Ryanair has announced its biggest expansion to date, including 12 new routes operating from UK airports to various holiday destinations across Europe. The new destinations include Beziers, Trapani and new departure points for flights to Madrid and Brussels.

The Mexican government has announced it will invest a total of six million pounds in tourism infrastructure and raising the Mexico’s profile as a holiday destination. £3.5 million will be spent on improving infrastructure – over 50% more than in 2007. And £2.5 million will spent on Mexico’s image as tourism destination. Money will be spent on popular tourist resort as well a new eco-tourism project, and cultural initiatives.

Turkey has been a major holiday destinations for many Europeans for years – and the country continues to see a rise in the number of arriving tourists. Before the best holiday months have even begun, 1.3 million people have taken a holiday in Turkey. The number of arrivals in April went up 17% compared to the same period last year (half a million visited Turkey in April).
