T5 Anniversary at London Heathrow

The newest terminal at Heathrow airport celebrated its first anniversary. Approximately 20 million people travelled through the British Airways terminal since it opened a year ago.
The feedback received from BA consumers who have travelled though T5 is reportedly the most comprehensive and positive, with achievements such as best punctuality and baggage performance, it is the best feedback BA received in nearly 10 years.
The general manager for BA South Africa, Mauritius and Seychelles said: “Our new London Heathrow home at Terminal 5 is a great success and our customers continue to give us great praise, our operations in Terminal 5 and customers‚ view of the facilities are giving us a real competitive edge at the moment, which is critical in these very tough times which are hitting the whole aviation industry.
New dedicated business check-in area for Bmi at Heathrow T1

Bmi has opened up a dedicated business travel check-in area at Heathrow Terminal 1 as part of their pledge to reduce check-in times.
The carrier made a pledge that they will enable customers to arrive at check-in only 30 minutes before their flights depart.
The new check-in area is in the main concourse of the terminal and can be used by business class and premium economy travellers taking flights from London, as well as Diamond Club Gold and Silver Card holders.
Bmi sales and marketing director Katherine Gershon said: “Part of our core customer offering is a quick and smooth experience through the airport and our new Premium Check-in will help to ensure we deliver on this commitment.
“The new area offers a fast track route for business class customers using our 30 minute check-in promise and also provides a spacious and relaxing area where families or larger groups can check-in at a more leisurely pace.
bmi introducing second flight to Tel Aviv

bmi are to bring in a second flight to Tel Aviv from Heathrow due to more demand, the flights currently operate on a twice daily basis on an A321 aircraft. This will be introduced on 30th March 2009. The planes used are also to change to an A330 on 3rd May 2009.
bmi have introduced the new scheme where the use of mobile phones takes over from paper boarding passes. Terminals in Heathrow have special mobile check in machines where customers are able to check-in for holidays, business trips etc and choose seating options all from the use of the phone.
bmi‚s Sales and Marketing Director Katherine Gershon stated, “Other airlines have mobile check-in but passengers still need to go to self-service machines at the airport and get a printed boarding card.
Life for frequent air travellers seems to be getting much easier, with less fuss and paper saving initiatives being introduced.
