Brits not classed in same category

UK holidaymakers prefer mixing with local people when on holiday abroad, according to a recent survey.
The British have a reputation of being rowdy, loud and overbearing according to many locals at popular holiday resorts across Europe as well as worldwide.
Shedding this perception may take time, however the survey shows not all Brits can be classed in the same category.
Locals appreciate foreigners learning phrases of the local language, up to 27% of UK holidaymakers make the effort to learn some of the language of the country to which they are travelling.
Exploring local cultures, heritage and attractions can add to the overall experience of the holiday, whether it‚s a city break, all-inclusive or cruise holiday.
Boost in UK cruise holiday sales in 2009
Mar 2nd
According to the annual report by Carnival UK, Britain‚s largest cruise line, more Britons will cruise in 2009 as a result of widespread discounting by cruise companies.
Speaking to the Telegraph, David Dingle, the chief executive of Carnival UK, said that a reduction in prices following the credit crunch is likely to lead to increased cruise holiday sales in 2009. He believes that the British cruising market will continue to grow despite the economic downturn, and could reach two million passengers by 2012. This follows steady growth in the industry to around 1,5m passengers in 2008, presenting a year-on-year increase of 12%.
Considerable discounting in the market is likely to continue throughout the year, with many cruise lines already offering half-price holidays to their customers. This is accompanied by a growth in capacity, as at least 40 new ships are set to be launched worldwide by 2012.
