Nov 17th
The success of Emirates in the last 6 months is thought to have contributed to the success of Dubai Airport, where the 40 millionth passenger is set to pass through before the year is out.
Events in Dubai such as the World Travel Awards, Dubai Shopping Festival, and the Dubai Air show have all helped with the success of the airport and gateway to the middle-east.
A year on year increase in passenger traffic of 11 per cent during October has been recorded, with consecutive growth in double digits for the previous 5 months of 2009.
Paul Griffiths, Dubai Airports Chief Executive said, “Our performance as one of the world’s fastest growing airports is proof that it pays to invest in infrastructure and build capacity to support and stimulate economic activity.
2010 is set to bring inevitable passenger growth for Dubai Airport with an expected 46 million passengers passing through the hub for city breaks, winter holidays and business events.
