The plan to extend London‚s Heathrow airport with a third terminal will be protested later today according to the Telegraph.

Advertisements for the extra terminal state the positives of the runway, which include, job creation, long- term competition with other world leading airports and economic growth.

British Airways
chief executive Willie Walsh stated: “A third runway would be fantastic news for jobs and investment in Britain. The rest of Europe has already built extra capacity at its hub airports and will be ready to benefit when the economic recovery comes. Britain cannot afford to slip further behind.”

Referring to the third runway, Chief Executive of Heathrow operator BAA said it will most likely to proceed as long as the environmental confines are met.

New plans for a new high speed rail link by a leading engineering group to Heathrow from London are thought to be revealed later on this month. If this is accepted then it seems more likely that Heathrow will become increasingly popular.
