Activity Holiday Travel Insurance Information
Jan 27th
Travel insurance is key when booking your holiday wherever the destination. Whether you take out insurance with the travel agent or you find your own, you need to ensure you have it and always read the small print.
Activity holidays are not always covered in basic holiday insurance, therefore the holidaymaker must ensure they have the correct policy that suits the cover they need.
All activities and sports necessarily aren‚t covered, it is always best to confirm with the policy provider so the holidaymaker can make any changes to activity plans, or make sure they get the correct policy that suits them.
Travel insurance policies needs to be taken out before, during or immediately after the holiday is booked; this is to ensure that any cancellations or delays are covered (check the policy for this). Choose a policy that is suitable for the needs of yourself or the family.
Once you have received your policy make certain there are no mistakes and thoroughly read through. Do not forget to make a copy, taking one with you on holiday and leave the other with a family member in-case it cannot be found in an emergency.
Post Office survey reveals money saving destinations
Jan 26th
A recent survey by the Post Office has revealed that holiday spending money will go further in holiday destinations such as the Czech Republic and Hungary.
British holidaymakers will find long haul destinations such as South Africa and Thailand better as costs are much lower and the pound has better value.
Managing Director of First Rate (foreign exchange wholesaler for the Post Office) Gordon Gourlay stated, “Although year on year sterling has dropped in value by over 10% against the forint and 15% against the koruna, its relative strength against these currencies, combined with lower local tourists costs, make Hungary and the Czech Republic two of the best value destinations for 2009.
Many holidaymakers heading to European destinations will now be taking more care when buying currency for their holiday destination to ensure they get the best possible deal.
The cheaper of the euro-zone countries include: Turkey, Bulgaria and Croatia.
