‘Oasis and Allure of the Seas’ – the new cruise ships from Royal Caribbean
The Royal Caribbean cruise line’s two new big ships have been named Oasis of the Seas and Allure of the Seas. The ships will be some of the biggest cruise ships in the world.
Cruise holidays onboard Oasis will be available from late 2009. The project name of ‘Genesis’ for both ships has been also been changed to ‘Oasis class’. The names for the ships were decided after thousands of suggestions from the public were considered by a team of experts.
Royal Caribbean launched ‘Name that Ship’ contest to name its two new world-class ships and received 91,000 possibilities. Many were duplicates, or names of ships that already exist with other cruise lines.
