Newcastle Airport has announced new direct flights to Dubai from the Emirates airline.

For the first time, holidaymakers in the North-East will be able to fly directly to Dubai with the first scheduled long-haul flights from Newcastle Airport.

Over eighty other long-haul destinations in South-East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, the Far and Middle East and the Indian sub-continent will become available to holidaymakers through connections from Dubai.

John Parkin, Chief Executive of Newcastle International Airport said: “Newcastle can now offer its customers direct services to one of the most important destinations in the world and an enormous choice of destinations beyond, on one of the world’s leading airlines.”

The new routes to Dubai from Newcastle Airport will be available from September 2007.
